  1. Author Notes:

Henry’s not having a good time, and Lord Circus makes a move for Yasha’s island!

Extra News: Live Yasha’s going to have two “sister” comics coming to their own websites and webtoons/tapas/drunk duck/global comics and a few other places soon! Along with more non Yasha related comics from me too in the same aforementioned hosts. Keep a look out!

Next page still on track for Friday. See you then comrades!

  1. Gay Frog Panic.

Dude. like buttons? Are you kidding me? That’s legendary 💀.

Thanks man haha! I’m having too much fun with these site feature coding 🙂

  2. What’s your opinion on Globalcomix btw? Since you’re planning on mirroring there eventually. I’ve never heard of them before but it looks like fucking Invincible’s on there now?

    1. Yeah they’ve grown a lot since they started! They’re doing those sort of big collabs Webtoons/Tapas do. It’s pretty cool a few people I know host there. For comic hosts in general I’m ambivalent in that I feel like most have pros/cons especially the bigger ones, but they all have pockets of cool and talented creators/readers, so I’m just gonna post wherever I feel comfortable. I don’t really get too tribal or analytical about it haha.

      1. I forget Tapas is even a thing honestly. But I think you’re right, they’re just hosting platforms of varying audience sizes, at the end of the day. You might as well post up. The only major downside is potential censorship 🤔

        1. Haha, I can’t wait to post on all the mirrors I can should be fun. And yeah that’s how I look at it too. I don’t care if some mirrors have a 100 and another has 1 or 2 readers, might as well just have your stories in multiple places.

And yes, good point lol. That’s why my favorite will probably always lean to self hosting haha. Paradise or Else in particular needs it the most. That’s why I recommend people do it as a backup at least if they can. It’s hard to get the hang of funneling people to it cause otherwise no one will be aware of it, but man is the freedom nice. I can imagine some of the intervention I could get for eventual scenes.

“Why is there so much BLOOD in this horror scene!!?”
“Why are Socrates, Kropotkin and Lenin in this silly anime story teaching a class???”
“Why are there such provocative outfits in a NIGHTCLUB!??”

LMAO. But honestly it will be quite a fun challenge to see if I can make Paradise or Else palatable for Webtoon/Tapas. There’s some cool artists on those sites and I can’t wait to join them. Live Yasha isn’t as extreme so that’s easy 🙂

Edit: Man you only said it twice, but now I’m calling it Paradise or Die on accident still XD.

  3. Swim to the mainland Henry! SWIM

  4. Your character designs are always so expressive!

    1. Thanks so much 😀

  5. SonicTheHedgeD0g__3

    Uh oh

  6. I like Lord Circus face. So creepy 🤡🤡

    1. I do too! Demon jester aesthetic is always my jam lol

I love that my art process is so self canabilistic so to speak. Cause drawing her head one time from scratch takes 1 and half hours lol. Thank you Moho, full stabilization lines, 3D models, and reuse of vector layers XD

      1. Self canabilistic is an interesting term there. I think my traditional drawing is probably shit now, because of how much I rely on stabilization lines. But I ain’t letting go.

        1. Lmao maybe not the best word to use there.

Right? Y’know I talk about shortcuts a lot but I do love drawing. Just a necessity for webcomics since they’d take eons otherwise haha. I’ve been working another Paradise Or Else Blender/Moho animation clip for instagram, and on the side I’ve been trying complete traditional animation to sharpen my skills.

Like I mean raw, no models, copy pasting, moho, just character references…. My god. Having to keep in mind 3D space and little reminders like Porcia’s eyes being basically an oval that takes up a certain fraction of her face at certain angles. Consistency and timing without my usual crutches…it’s so much LMAO. But it’s sooo fun. It’s much more rewarding shaking off cobwebs like that old fashioned way sometimes lol.

  7. Why is she 10ft tall

    1. Lmao. Yeah she’s towering. Most faeries are really tall but she’s on the taller end even for a faerie! There’s another major faerie character who’s like Circus’ complete opposite in personality, and she is tall but about 5 inches shorter than Circus. That’s about the average for faeries! 7.8-8ft ish

  8. Henry needs his own crew to fight of these guys. That’s why you don’t ride solo

    1. Haha! Absolutely. Needs to have a couple of people willing to stand with him against the Pirate Queen. Real ones like that are rare, to be fair most people unsurprisingly prioritize self preservation lmao. But I’d say Yasha’s a real one for sure, if only she was napping on the beach in her usually spot. She would have seen this lol

      1. I don’t think a small group of ‘normals’ CAN do anything against Circus physically. Some Homelander shit.

        1. Yeah great point! Most people in this world are aware of Circus and her power/grip on the seas. There’s also another tyranical group called Stolgia that used to rule the world and are growing in power again! Though despite that I’d say lots of normal people and groups in this world would want to help each other out. They just would probably do it in another way if they found themselves face to face with Circus lol. People like Yasha who can actually contend with her physically without weapons or anything are pretty scarce!

I can’t wait to show that sort of tension and the conditions that bring upon more average people to go against Circus/Stolgia hehe. It’s why I love when I get to focus on the agency of people like Henry and Nia juxtaposed to Yasha/Sin :3

  9. WOAH the site updates look so nice!!!! That’s a cute social incentive image too. Bird gal 👀

    1. Thank you so much Luminal :D. I’m having a lot of fun doing extra coding stuff for my sites haha.

I can’t wait to show y’all that bird gal hehe. From this point on this story deviates from the last iteration I had of this story. This upcoming fishing portion plays out in a different way, wouldn’t really call it much of a fishing portion anymore lol. After that and a few more scenes, we’ll be on our way to seeing the bird gal pretty soon 😀

  10. The art keeps getting better! Great episode.

    1. Thanks Henson! I’ve also been recently doing fun comic discord art challenges, and animating a lot perhaps that has helped.

In fact I’m animating more than webcomic-ing recently. Just a shift of focus after going super hard on webcomic stuff, hopefully the coming pages have another jump in quality!

  11. Can’t wait to see the changes you make to the upcoming scenes. The snippets you’ve given look great. But hey, when Nia’s there it’s a good time regardless.

    1. Dude I’m so excited! I’ve been studying a lot of Webtoons hooks, and movie script writing, even reading essays related to freaking Dosteoevsky and Alan Moore on plot/character writing LMAO. Not that I could write anything close to as good as those two but they’re very great insights studying them!

Going all in for this silly fantasy story :P. I want Yasha, Nia, Lalo, and Sin’s comraederie dynamic to be much emotionally stronger and Circus to basically be the ignition to their globe trotting adventure.

Especially Nia and Yasha I think have a really good interaction immediately next page. Sorry to gush so much but I’m super hyped that I get to share this with y’all! This will be the first place of many I’ll be sharing this final version of the story. Let’s get to the juicy parts of this story by this year’s end 🔥🔥

      1. Dosteoevsky and Live Yasha were not what I expected to see today. But I’m here for it

        1. Lmao. I’ve been reading more of him more to prepare to write a book in the future actually, but reading essays on him as well as a few others has given me ways to think about writing and structure for all my narrative projects regardless of their genre. Been neglecting that aspect of comic making tbh. I like the perspective shifts it’s giving me.

  12. Uh yeah. I don’t see what you see Froggy. But love has no boundaries!!!1!!11 💖

    1. Froggy when people don’t see the sheer undeniable shattering beauty that is Lord Circus.

      1. I like that shakier line art.

        1. Thanks man! At least a couple panels each update from now on will have less polished line art haha. Usually the more comedic panels if I can help it.

Sort of a compromise for myself since I’ve begun seriously working Schopenhauer and Paradise or Else in tandem….and I’m already doing a gazillion other things. (might need to reach out to Teh_Celub again at this rate XD).

Most Yasha/Paradise or Else character art will be my usual polished look if I can help it haha. And y’know as much as I hate compromising line art quality, I think it’s nice…gives it a more organic looking touch lol. Though it hurts my perfectionist psyche. To cope with my neurotic need for art consistency, all of Schopenhauer webcomic art will likely mostly be in a flat color looser lineart like below! (With the exception of promo art). That way it has a more cohesive look, as well as doesn’t take me long to spin up a page.

Can’t wait to show y’all the whacky dark mysteries that feature Schopenhauer and his bubbly lovecraftian monster of a girlfriend that can shapeshift into his ex!
