Thanks man! I have really cut checking in on time wasting sites and bad habits lately. Also just getting more sleep which helps with focus lol. Hoping to keep up a schedule until Episode 1 ends!

Thank you!! That is actually my biggest meta project right now for all the comics. I am adhering more to your typical webtoon layout. Longer rectangular vertical panels, more creative panels not just uniform squares, bigger text. It’s very fast to update but still needs some getting used to. Also making inconsistent low resolution character art more clean and high resolution. In a few months, Live Yasha and Paradise Or Else will be converted from just pure boring square panels :). And future webcomics in that style obviously will be like that.
A couple pages from now we’ll make the “webtoon style” switch with Yasha in the latest pages! The trickiest thing now is making sure it looks great on Desktop. I think a lot of webtoons look too zoomed in on most desktops so I’m taking that into account for all the other mirrors besides webtoon while still making the switch to the more webtoon style. But I love it, feels more interesting to work!

Lmao, right. Well for me it’s both wanting to make things easier for people given where they’re reading it and just wanting to make my stories present as good as they can be! I think lots of more cynical execs wouldn’t invest in sweeping moves like that to a movie/game/ect. unless it had a good chance to improve the bottom line XD.
But for me it’s all a fun challenge at the end of the day, I’m not entitled to anyone’s interest despite doing this. I’m sure a total life time of work went into Transformers 2 but I change the channel after 2 minutes lmao. But if it can help make things easier or more interesting to read my comics for even a handful of people it’s worth it!

1st I made this page a while ago lol. I wish I could make stuff in a week with my schedule. And then also the backgrounds are heavily assisted by Sketchup! Though still a lot of post fix and drawing usually.
And for the characters I often like to say I’ve evolved past relying on 3D for character art (which I mostly have) but I still use 3D models as a drawing reference base most of the time. And also I use programs like Moho character rigging/layering sometimes too to save even more time. Can switch out a similar pose for a character and alter certain layers like legs/arms etc. This helps both with time and consistency, since me drawing a lot of these characters for unique poses can take upwards to an hour otherwise (I’m always trying to get that clean anime like aesthetic, lineart takes forever)! Though the moho reuse can mess with my resolution/line art consistency on some panels when I resize smh. Working on that lol.
But yeah despite all this it’s still a lot of drawing and work. Which is why I like to have buffer these days XD. Webtoons and webcomic people in general are quite simply passionate art BEASTS, especially those who don’t use as many shortcuts as me haha.
Edit: Also my gf and friend often help with zanier expressions and coloring some days!
BRO it’s going fantastic. I’m sooo hyped. It’s really surreal to make something and have help when I’m stuck. We’re really getting lots of modules done pretty fast. I can’t wait to show y’all more :D. Especially when we do the final graphics overhaul.
And no the game still needs more time for sure lol. The comic will be out before it for sure! Can’t wait to show y’all more. It’s set in Yasha’s world but quite different haha, none of the main characters have powers. And it’s reminiscent of Harvest Moon + Dungeon Meshi.
Thanks man!! The game is centered a lot of the restaurant and some RPG elements. The comic does the same, but other things happen with that plot too. I hope I surprise y’all, keeping both ’em close to chest for a bit haha. My other one shot is likely to come out first, which I’m gonna keep a complete mystery :D.
Thanks!! Yeah not too bad actually wtih 3D model perspective haha. Longest thing to draw on this page was Circus (evil giant woman’s) face lol. What’s really difficult is subtle things like interlocking fingers interacting. I keep messing that up on a future panel I’m tweaking lmao. It takes too long to pose hands sometimes 3D so I usually use real references. Hands man.
Nope, unfortunately it’s a bit of a hefty one time payment for the software, and honestly I would say it’s only worth it if you’re going to animate too tbh! If you have any art software you can sort of do something similar and predraw character sprites and break certain parts of their body into different layers. Sort of like a character creator haha. I use that sort of thing often, especially for recurring background characters.
One other thing I’ve thought about just now is HOW exactly Henry even stole the map from these guys lol. That’s admirable given Circus and her crew are probably monstrously strong.
That Paradise or Die coming soon page looks dope btw. I’m always amazed at how fast you can code website shit. Couldn’t be me
Haha! He got VERY lucky xD. Circus’ crew is indeed very powerful, and Circus is just stupid powerful. One thing I’ll say is for the webtoon panel layout update I’m adding a small new prologue and small tweaks. And also from the fishing point to the end of Episode 1, the story has some new scenes and direction that might enlighten a few things about what happened before this moment :D. But I do like it being a random out of context thing too lmao.

Y’know at first long ass time ago in college when I failed to become a therapist (no regrets tho) and decided to go into Computer Science for the moneyâ„¢ , I never thought I’d end up liking it and picking up so much great skills/funding for my more serious art passions :D. Really happy about how the self hosted sites have been going. And excited for the future of Paradise or Else too. been more in touch with other webcomic/webtoon commnities lately and it’s gonna be fun to see people’s reactions to these stories in new hosting places too 😀

One thing I have learned from getting iight at things like Poker/Chess/Web Development is that if you just keep trying and failing but keep tweaking and learning, you’ll eventually get good anything haha. Just gotta sit down and quietly chug away at tutorials and experiments for whatever software you want to learn, banging head against your wall. That sounds terrible but in a weird way it’s fun to get better at new skills!
Bro no I feel you cause I have the worse ADHD. It takes so much to get in the mindset to focus on tutorials, even very well crafted easy to follow ones XD.
