Circus is very creepy indeed! I’ve had a lot of deeply nefarious villains as influences when creating her. You’re pretty much spot on there too. Who knows what Circus is planning but she has long term goals.

I like the little detail of Quinna subtly defending Yasha there when she tells Circus that Yasha just doesn’t know who she is. I expcted her to be mad at Yasha for her disobedience.
If you ask me the best part of Quinna on this page is how she can turn her fuck ups into wins on the fly. “I totally planned for you to do that island girl, doesn’t matter, I still win.”
Haha! They do a bit :P. Fun fact they’re also called imps! I freaking love Princess Mononoke, it’s one of the all time greats. Miyazaki and his team are insanely talented. I’d say it’s one of many influences on this story, but biggest influences still probably Zelda Windwaker, One Piece, and Kill La Kill.
Lately now things like Dr.Stone and FarScape are influencing future arcs. This story will definitely get pretty wild, I don’t think people will see it’s trajectory coming haha. Have barely scratched the surface.

It’s a lot of work to sculpt and render models that good, but obviously worth it haha. I hope to get better and better at both 3D and 2D, this comic will always have both ๐
It’s amazing. I’m kind of cringing thinking of how long and how many little tweaks and tricks with shading nodes, materials, ect. you’d have to do to make this look good but yes, it’s incredible XD.
This NPR method similar to arcsystem for sure! Also they’re probably just good at animating and drawing traditionally on top of that. Those poses and expressions look straight out of the anime, you need that for it to translate organically to 3D!

LOL, hopefully one day. I’m definitely better than I was a few years ago, can’t believe I’ve had a few voice actors reaching out from my silly blender animation clips. But this Maomao animation is definitely another level I’ve yet to reach, I’ll try to get my models and animation this good one day >:D.

Lol, absolutely will. I have a few in the pot right now and almost done with the Idiko one. Also will have some short clips made in Moho, which is 2D character rigging that I was messing with late last year :). Finding a way to work that into my Blender pipeline along with just making standalone 2D character rig stuff.
