They’re both 18 and Nia is almost 19! Back in the flashback here they were almost 6 ish , fun fact Lalo wasn’t in the picture quite yet and like Yasha she just spawned on the island one day.
Quinna will really do anything for her captain…after all she’s done so far I really don’t think Yasha is down for talking either! though Nia’s desire is understandable. Tbf even Nia was like “yeah this probably won’t work but we can try” hahaha.
Hahaha, I really can’t wait to show yall how this conflict ends.
Fun fact the previous iteration of this story didn’t have Nia, but the conflict will end much similar to how it did in the original, with Nia giving a helping hand this time 😀
AW I dig their bond so much <3 are they officially a couple? Hero is such a nice nickname. Yasha's staring into the ocean is probably some sort of foreshadowing but I'm interpreting it as a sort of trauma response to being dumped on the island? Or maybe she's longing for whoever was in that dream she keeps having without even knowing exactly why. I'm so amazed by the little character details and reactions in this story, they say a lot implicitly and through subtle actions. If they can convincne Quinna to stop this without fighting that might challenge Yasha's overly self reliant atittude and need to solve everything with a fight. A lot of potential for interesting developments hoho! I'll be waiting patiently impatiently for the next update. ^_^

Definitely! She acts much more vulnerable around a few people like Nia and Lalo. Even though she really isn’t afriad of conflict and is pretty confident in her ability to fight and defend people, she does have some more stuff and insecurities going on for sure.
Though the line might be a little blurred because while she definitely has these worries and has always looked up to Nia, in this moment a part of her also might just being a little humble as a way to kind of patch up for her outburst XD, she really doesn’t want Nia to not like her!
Honestly, knowing Yasha, unless Quinna like begs for forgiveness and leaves the island immediately I would be very nervous watching an extended chat between them!

The image optimization helped a lot and it’s faster now but the big loading issues (for people that don’t have local cache from initial load) had to do with weird aggressive general preloading site caching of a bunch of images that didn’t need to be called in on the home page being called all at once
Yasha is really one of your most fleshed out and likable characters. She has so many sides to her, it almost doesn’t make much sense on the surface how she used to be so timid while being so powerful but it works so well. And oi, Nia sure is brave ,kind, and purty. I see why she fancies her.
p.s I forget you’re a web developer sometimes. Don’t know what the fuck any of that means but it sounds like you’re killing it dude lol
p.s.s How long did it take you to make an update this size btw? You do that webtoon thing where you have so many panels, that might also be contributing to the load time but I’m not an expert.

Yeah, big inspirations for this story were kill la kill and windwaker, kid Yasha lack of speech was inspired by Link haha. And now that I think about it probably Jak and Daxter where Jak goes from a silent protag to a hot headed talking one.
Those are definitely big reasons she likes Nia! I want to show a few more flashback snippets like this before the Nusa arc inevitably comes :O.

Yeah you’re right about the amount of images adding to the load time. But I do just like pumping out long updates tho, I making each page feel like there’s good progress. Tbh It doesn’t take me long at all now, it’s a lot of work but Sketchup, CSP, and Blender help save so much time. I can pump out this length in a few hours. Tbh rn my life is a clown show lmao. I can see it, at the same time the story has it’s own distinct flavor. But real talk Yasha does have that Ryuko DNA, at least visually. I remember you mentioning one time that One Piece, Avatar, and Iron Man were big influences on you too.
Another thing I didn’t mention, it’s pretty damn sad that Yasha is the only one equipped to fight off a big threat. I really have to wonder what ol’ big bad Circus’s end game and motivation really are.
FF7 rebirth is pretty fucking fire so far, though the npc’s are kind of strange in my experience so far, coming out of an original FF7 replay.
I really like Ryuko’s design and ‘tude, though KLK is problematic as hell lmao I love it.

A few years before Idiko’s Paradise even started when I was brainstorming most of the stories where I have a teen/young adult protag(s) and One Piece, Windwaker and Avatar were definitely like huge catalysts. Along with this obscure Indonesian show that I’ve forgotten the name of now.
Fast forward today now with Zara Tale and Janz Plan my protags are my age range late 20s/ early 30s and I’m still working both Final Paradise and Live Yasha. And Yasha, Rabidus, and Porcia are all still the age I was when I conceived them lmao. been working/brainstorming those stories that long.

Though Nia is right, Yasha gots a lot going on besides that, even stuff that isn’t apparent or expressed outwardly all the time. Guess Yasha has trouble accepting people genuinely like her inherently for her at times! Also to further justify Nia’s point, if Yasha didn’t have such a strong sense of justice and temper, being so powerful wouldn’t really save the day in itself haha.

Besides that books, movies, and especially real life people, historical figures, and myself I pour aaall those bits as a mangled synthesis into all my characters XD. I think every artists whether consciously or subconsciously definitely has a gagillion influences and I always just like shouting a few of them out. I also just think it’s really interesting phenomena to see the sublte phylogeny of creatives influences in different media.
Also In wake of the very sad news I feel compelled to shout out perhaps one of the most prolifically influential creatives in recent memory. Akira Toriyama is probably what got me into the idea of making art and stories when I was a kid and first saw Goku fighting Vegeta. I didn’t mention it on this page yet, but Dragon ball influence permeates ALL my stories and designs. R.I.P Legend.
