That girl is Yasha’s first crush, she’s liked a handful of girls on the island but to this day is still kind of a romance novice xP.
Fun fact he was actually only called Sin because I was reading about Sinbad the sailor myth at the time haha! But also fun fact spoiler below β¬οΈβ¬οΈ

Sinbad is now a character that shows up in the next arc, so now Sin’s name is just a weird limbo in terms of symbolism but hey I’m a fan of people being able to make their own interpretations XD. Although I can say there is lots of Buddhism influence in this story too!
I knew this would be how Sin would enter the flashback and I can’t stop laughing πππ. Young Yasha looked like such a quiet romantic little thing. Now she can kick some giant fish ass

As we’ll see Yasha’s much less confident/experienced fighting at this age but this just might become Yasha’s first ‘battle win’ π
Great guess! And I’m glad you brought that up. At this point most of the village thinks Yasha is the nice quiet new kid, even Nia (the little girl) doesn’t necessarily hate Yasha she’s just a bit upset she doesn’t want to play with her XD. I think I made it that way cause I don’t like that thing in media where everyone in the city/village/town is mean spiritied and hates the protag for no reason haha!
But what is different from the present is that no one necessarily thinks Yasha as the fearless helpful guardian of the island yet! And that may start to bud soon π
So Yasha has been sitting in the same spot that she was abondoned? That’s pretty poignant…Very impressive emotional episode here. I can sense her uneasiness as she’s glaring at the ocean and that drawing. I felt pretty sad for Yasha. Sin reminds me of my nephew, couldn’t help but laugh at his exchange with his father there.
